I know Lexus recommends premium gas for our SUV so 91 octane or higher. Though Ive been sticking with 91 since thats whats required, but I keep seeing people say they only use 93 because it is far better for the engine or gives better performance. Is there actually a noticeable difference between using 91 and 93 in the TX?
Is it worth paying extra for 93 or is it just overkill if the manual only says 91. Would love to hear what you all are using and if you've noticed a great distinction.

I've been running 93 in my TX just because it's what I've always done with performance engines, does it make a huge difference? eh, maybe a bit smoother on throttle response, but nothing dramatic. If 91 is recommended, you're already good 93 isn't magic, but hey, if the price gap is small and you're feeling fancy, why not?

Yeah makes sense, maybe if I actually race someone I would. Kind of a cheapskate here.. LMAO

If Lexus calls for 91 octane, using 93 wont give a huge boost in performance or efficiency. Modern engines adjust timing to handle the recommended fuel. Some drivers report smoother throttle or slightly better responsiveness with 93 , but for everyday driving, sticking with 91 is perfectly fine and saves you money.
