sensitive driver monitoring system

I just want to know your experience about the driver monitoring system (DMS) in your Lexus? I've been driving my 2024 Lexus TX 500h for a few months now. I'm really impressed with the vehicle but I'm not sure if the DMS is super sensitive or if it's performing just as it should be. I've noticed it's pretty quick to chime at me to look forward when I do quick glance at the center screen or when I adjust my sunglasses. I read somewhere the Lexus DMS should work well, and if I remember it right, that it received the highest rating for automated systems. So I'm not sure if I should feel annoyed or if it needs like a few more drives to be calibrated to my driving behavior. I'm curious to know if anyone here has had a similar experience and what's your overall thoughts about it?

I can relate! I've had a similar experience in my TX where the DMS tends to go off a bit too easily, especially when I'm just checking the screen or putting on my sunglasses. It's definitely doing what it's meant to, but it can feel a bit too sensitive at times. Have you looked into adjusting the alert settings in the menu? I found that tweaking mine helped reduce how often it alerts. I wonder if you have those same options too.

Yeah, a lot say the DMS can be a bit too sensitive. Its quick to chime even if you just glance at the screen or adjust your glasses. There's not really a learning curve for it, it just reacts fast by design. You can tweak some alert settings, but the main system stays on. Most just get used to it after a while. Lol

As much as I love the safety tech, the Lexus DMS can feel more like a backseat driver than a co-pilot...chiming at every glance like it doesn't trust you behind the wheel. Makes you wonder if we're really driving the car or just babysitting its sensors
